World Environment Day
This year World Environment Day finds us amidst a crisis generated by the strain that humans have put on the planet. The pandemic has shown us the fragile state of the world and the social and economic dependency we have on our natural resources. At P4P we remain committed to work on nature-based solutions to ensure social, economic and environmental resilience, while ensuring conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity.
P4P – a climate friendly organization
As part of the partnership with Fundación Plan21, P4P will be counting and offsetting the carbon footprint of our organization. This is our commitment to climate responsibility. We will also endeavor to provide our clients the option to move towards achieving their climate goals.
The Impacts of Climate Change on Tourism
Climate change adaptation cannot wait for the future, it has to start now! The tourism sector of Costa Rica has a great economic impact and multiplier effect, but it struggles in practicing a climate change adaptation strategy. The signs of climate change are already perceived in the ground gained at our beaches, water stress, or increased rainfall. It is time for a climate change adaptation strategy.

The creation of The Clean Energy Finance Facility — a $20 million facility designed to encourage investment in clean energy projects, was announced. The facility should provide early stage funding for private and public sector investments, with financing and technical expertise from various U.S. agencies. The initiative demonstrates a new focus on clean energy initiatives and a growing regional cooperation.
